Bellywood, mixing styles. |
Last november 28 th in the resto Gitano, in the street Chile 424, in the neighborhood of San Telmo, the city could enjoy the show Bellywood that recived excelent dancers from Argentina and the world, who since the first note had soked the atmosphere with the dancer vibes, making us to feel between sky and earth, feeling the dimensions, uniting the contrasts with dancers culturally heterogeneous like flamenco, bellydance and bollywood dance; Those different arts make Gitano the perfect place for a physical and spiritual voyage.
Bellywood was an experience of a strong visual impact, hypnotic, sensual and energetic, meanwhile the vases on the walls seems accompany on dew on the whole place.
Valerie Romanin shared with us her style "flamenco descalzo"mix of flamenco and oriental dance and the duo Nanda Sibel opened for us the doors of their Universe with the dancing styles bollywood dance and bellydance,who also kindly agree to give me an interview,which a share with u next:
1. Nowadays you offer more than one style,not only bollywood dance,right?
Duo Nanda Sibel (DNS): Its true, we has been changing during the cycle, there was arabic dance, gypsy dance from Balkans, and then another styles,but always inside of the area of oriental dance.
2. Whats the origin of those styles?
DNS: In the most part of the dances the intention is to celebrate or thank to God, to nature, and then came little by little the enternainment factor.Sometimes theres a mix of two factors together,and sometimes its only one.
3. There was some special reason who took you to choose this styles in particular?
DNS: Yes, they are joyful melodies very nice to dance and they show different cultures.
4. Which was the initial, inner,intimate eagerness that inspired each one of you to take this direction?
DNS: Curiosity for different cultures and learning from them
5. You worked always together or sometimes you do it by separate?
DNS: Ussually we work together for shows and each one of us have our classes,although we always count on each other for everything.
6. We could realize watching you dancing that its a genuine love what you feel for dancing,bollywod and arabic style.How did it born this love for the arabic and oriental world?
DNS: It born from curiosity and it started growing slowly when we started getting involve with them,a little bit following our inner compass...
7. Could u get to know another oriental countries or only India?
DNS: Yes,thanks God we also know Morocco.
8. Both of you could know India? what aspect of India impacted you more?
DNS: Everything impact of India!
9. Its said that all dances mobilize emotions,what do u think about this subject following your experience?
DNS: Dancing in general mobilize body in a way that mobilize head and everything inside, its like a domino effect, so as better are the pieces inside,much better will result the effect.
10. Bollywood dance its a complete dance...what do you think its the most important thing to shinne on the stage in the moment to show such a particular dance?
DNS: The most important is to transmit the pleasure of dancing and be reliable with the style,so people can get an idea of what is Bollywood.
11. You give bellydance classes and bollywood dance classes,right? Where do you teach?
DNS:Yes, we give clases in the neighborhood of San Telmo and probably next year we will also in another places...
12. Nanda i have understood that you took classes with different artists from all around the world like Sri Lanka, India, Chile, France, which wealth do you feel that those intercultural experiences left you?Because im sure each one has their own culture...habits...particularities...
DNS: Yes they were enriching and necessary experiences.
13. Sibel in your classes you privilege playing as a tool to encourage creativity...which feedback did you recive from the students using this method?
DNS: Playing is a way to make them learn, perfect for little girls,its the right way to interact with them so they enjoy, get intrest, and express themselves,but its fruitful also for adults.
